Kalna, West Bengal June 9, 2025: Flipkart, India’s homegrown ecommerce marketplace, today organized a workshop at Kalna in collaboration with the Government of West Bengal as part of their ongoing MoU partnership. The session was designed to empower local artisans and weavers by integrating them into India’s rapidly expanding digital economy. This onboarding workshop equipped participants with the essential knowledge and tools to successfully access the Flipkart marketplace and scale their businesses online. The event was attended by Shri Shubham Aggarwal, Sub Divisional Officer, Kalna; Shri Krishna Chandra Munda, Deputy Magistrate, Kalna; Shri Sanjay Senapati, Block Development Officer, Purbasthali 1 Block; Shri Ranjit Maity, District Handloom Officer, Bardhaman and Shri Manas Goswami, District Khadi Village Industries Board, Bardhaman.
The workshop aimed to strengthen the capabilities of local communities for self-employment and entrepreneurship. With a strong focus on showcasing Flipkart’s marketplace offerings, the workshop was designed to equip communities of weavers, and artisans with the knowledge and tools needed to access national markets and expand their businesses. Organized in partnership with the Government of West Bengal, the orientation session in Kalna saw participation from over 50 artisans and weavers.
